Founded in 2001 and based in Nairobi, the Institute of Loss Adjusters and Risk Surveyors (IARS) is a non-profit professional body that sets ethical standards and advances professional education across five insurance specialisms. We bring practitioners, insurers, brokers and regulators together under one code of practice — Service With Ethics.
We work closely with the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) and partner institutions including the Association of Kenya Insurers, the Insurance Institute of East Africa, Bureau Veritas, the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (UK) and the College of Insurance to keep our members' skills current and our standards credible.
